Our system is highly automated whilst retaining the ability to update data in London, 24/7, to take account af handwritten revisions and design input for diagrams, pictures, etc.

 

Thus we have the flexibility and cost savings at our disposal. We are able to update our software for changes of style, new products and varying original data changes.

 

As we use this system ourselves we are able to identify any new requirements and include these in our program.

Whilst typesetting in the UK is specialised and relatively expensive, global companies working in the Far East have been a more economical option. Both of these solutions have their problems. In the UK cost is a barrier although closeness to clients for some areas of publishing is a pre-requisite for briefs and urgent revisions.

 

Offshoring

Offshoring has been a useful alternative, giving much better costs/page rates to publishing/communications organisations. Inconveniences such as problems with revisions, communications problems and administration costs plus disadvantages of distance if anything goes wrong, are a hazard but the advantage of much cheaper labour is a major factor.
